Claymore
Find banned players when they come back.
Claymore compares how people behave. When a new account behaves like someone your team has banned, it waits in a queue. A person on your team makes the call.
What Claymore does
A banned player often returns on a new account. Names change. How they behave usually does not. Each night Claymore compares new accounts with the players you have banned.
- Activity arrives. What the game sends shows up in the dashboard within about a minute.
- Each night, behavior is compared. Claymore checks recent activity against banned players who already have a record on file.
- Close matches wait for a person. They land in the queue, closest first. Your team reads both sides and decides.
Claymore can only compare a new account with a banned player it already has a record of. Let that record build up before you ban someone. Activity from after a ban is not used, and a ban on a player with nothing on file gives the next night nothing to compare.
Use the moderation dashboard
The work happens at app.useclaymore.com. Sign in with your username or email. One project is one game or community: its own queue, its own bans, and its own team. The project switcher at the top left moves between them.
Starting a project takes an invite code from Claymore. If a teammate already has the project, they add your email on Team and it is waiting when you sign in.
Overview is the front page. It shows how many matches are waiting, how many bans are active, how many players are being checked, and what the team decided this week. The top of the queue is listed there, with the closest match first.
Queue is where the day’s work is. Open a row and read the two players side by side, including when each of them was online. Then pick one:
- Same person: ban. The new account is banned too. From the next nightly check, new accounts are compared with both.
- Not the same person. They stay unbanned, and they are not flagged against that banned player again unless they start behaving much more alike.
- Decide later. The match leaves the queue for the number of days you choose, then returns if they still behave alike.
A note on any of those is optional, and the rest of the team can see it. Changed your mind about a ban? Unban them from Bans. Unbanning one account leaves the others in that ban group alone.
New projects start in practice mode. The top bar says Bans not live yet. Bans are saved in the dashboard, and players stay in the game. When the team trusts the queue, an admin turns on Apply bans in the game in Settings. That applies every ban already recorded, not only new ones.
The first queue appears after the nightly check. Until then an empty queue is expected. The check runs at 4:00 in the project’s timezone, and new projects start on UTC. An admin can move that hour.
